The International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit making association. ISWA's aim is to maximise the world-wide exchange of information and experience on all aspects of solid waste management.
Managed by a Secretariat, based in Copenhagen (Denmark), ISWA is governed by a General Assembly, consisting of National Representatives and is steered by the Board and the Scientific & Technical Committee.
National Members are generally solid waste associations which represent a wide range of solid waste interests within a country. National Members are represented at ISWA's General Assembly and can have full representation at all ISWA Internal Groups and Committees. Other National Member benefits include privileged information services, the right to appoint candidates for President and Vice-President for election at the General Assembly, Working Group Chairs and the opportunity to host ISWA Annual Congress and General Assembly.
The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management is the ISWA National Member for the UK. For more information about ISWA please click here
