CIWM NW Centre & the Environment Agency - 'A New Framework - Environmental Permitting' Venue: The Swallow Hotel, Preston New Road, Samlesbury, Preston, PR5 0ULCIWM North West Centre and the Environment Agency presentation on the new Environmental Permitting Regulations introduced on 6 April 2008. These Regulations replace the Waste Management Licensing Regulations and the PPC Regulations - waste management licences and PPC permits will cease and become Environmental Permits. The presentation covers the basic provisions in the regulations, including what's new and transitional arrangements. It also considers how the Environment Agency has prepared for its role under the regulations including the new Standard Rules Permits. It will look at how the Regulations enable an evolutionary approach over the coming years.The presenter was Jeremy Frost, Project Executive for the Environment Agency implementation of the regulations.
