STREAMLINING OF THE FRAMEWORK DIRECTIVE ON WASTE
The European Union has issued a `codification' of the Waste Framework Directive. In order to ensure European legislation is clear to the public, once a maximum of 10 amendments have been made a new directive has to be issued. The new Directive will supersede the various Acts incorporated in the original directive. However, fully preserves the content of the acts being codified and hence does no more than bring them together with only such formal amendments as are required by the codification exercise itself.
