MUNICIPAL WASTE SENT TO LANDFILL FALLS
Statistics released by DEFRA show that the proportion of municipal waste sent to landfill fell to 75%. More encouragingly it is the first time in recent years that the actual tonnage of municipal waste being sent to landfill has decreased. The statistics show that the production of municipal waste continues to increase and England has now achieved a recycling rate of 14.5% for municipal waste.
