CIWM CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION

Due to the CIWM Conference & Exhibition taking place next week, there will be no edition of News Online. This year's conference promises to be bigger and better than ever with over 350 exhibitors displaying an array of equipment and services for the waste industry. The Conference and workshop sessions will cover a wide range of issues, hearing from leading experts in areas including hazardous waste, thermal treatment, waste as a resource, producer responsibility, public awareness, planning, street environment and a free Waste Producers' Day to name but a few. The CIWM will have a stand at the exhibition and please feel free to come along and offer any suggestions/comments on this or any other service the CIWM provides.

CIWM FORUM ON WASTE PLANNING REVIEW

Our website will be used to gauge CIWM members' opinion on high profile topics.  It will open sessions for clearly advertised periods to allow feedback on specific issues.  The first will be ODPM's forthcoming Waste Planning Policy Statement (PPS 10); this will be used to develop early stage feedback to ODPM and to develop CIWM's policy position on this vital issue.  For this topic the forum will be open from the Friday 19 June until Friday 9 July.  Peter Ellis will be speaking at our conference in mid June - you may like to hear what he has to say before responding.
