STATUTORY CONSULTATION ON REVIEW OF ROS (SUPPORT FOR WAVE AND TIDAL POWER) 2006
The Renewables Obligation (Scotland), or ROS, has been very successful to date in stimulating the growth and development of new renewables capacity in Scotland,
largely from onshore wind and hydro power. This statutory consultation seeks views
on our detailed proposals for a Marine Supply Obligation, designed to deliver that support. It also contains a link to a wider UK consultation on further proposed changes to the ROS with respect to co-firing and small generators.

BE UP TO DATE BY USING THE EIGHTH EDITION OF THE APPROVED SUPPLY
LIST TO DETERMINE WHETHER WASTE IS HAZARDOUS
The Environment Agency will not normally enforce the use of the 8th edition of the ASL, in conjunction with our technical guidance document WM2, to determine whether a waste is hazardous, until 1 November 2006. You can continue to use the 7th edition until that date.

OMAGH MAN FINED £1600 FOR WASTE OFFENCES
Mr Eoin Darcy of Oldfort Road, Tattyreagh, Omagh was fined at Omagh Magistrate's court on 14 September 2006 for breaches of waste management legislation, due to illegally deposited controlled wastes and observed evidence of burning of controlled wastes, found from a site visit off Drumconnelly Road in Tattyreagh in January and March 2005.
