ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY CENTRAL TO GOVERNMENT
ECONOMIC POLICY

“The comprehensive package of environmental measures contained in
the Budget demonstrated that the environment is now at the centre of
Government economic policy," stated the Irish Minister for the Environment,

A STRONGER VOICE FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY
The Health and Safety Commission (HSC) have published a public
consultation document seeking views on merging HSC and Health and

BARKER REVIEW OF LAND USE PLANNING: FINAL REPORT -
RECOMMENDATIONS

The Government announced in the 2005 Pre-Budget Report that Kate
Barker has been asked to lead an independent review of land use
planning, focusing on the link between planning and economic growth. 
The final report for the review was published on 5 December 2006 and

CHANGES TO PLANNING OBLIGATION: A PLANNING-GAIN
SUPPLEMENT CONSULTATION
DCLG have issued a consultation for Government's proposals for a
new system of planning obligations in England. Building on the
previous proposals published in December 2005 as part of the
Government's proposals for a 'Planning-gain Supplement', it seeks
views on more detailed aspects of the scope of the new system.  For

PROJECTS

OPPORTUNITY FOR CONTRACTORS TO JOIN WRAP’S CONSTRUCTION
SUPPOORT FRAMEWORK

WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) has announced an open
tender, inviting contractors to submit applications to become part of its
Construction Support Framework.  Consultants will be required to advise
WRAP directly and to assist construction businesses in improving their
