EPA CODE OF PRACTICE: ENVIRONMENT RISK ASSESSMENT FOR UNREGULATED WASTE DISPOSAL SITES
The Irish EPA has published a code of practice on Environmental Risk Assessment for Unregulated Waste Disposal Sites. The code of practice has been produced to ensure a consistent approach to environmental risk assessment by local authorities when assessing the environmental impact for historic unregulated waste disposal sites. It also provides guidance on how to deal with illegal landfills that have come into being since the introduction of the waste licensing regime. THE NATIONAL WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR SCOTLAND REGULATIONS 2007
The national waste management plan for Scotland regulations 2007 have been released, they

THE PRODUCER RESPONSIBILITY OBLIGATIONS (PACKAGING WASTE) REGULATIONS (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2007

OECD FACTBOOK 2007 – ECONOMIC, ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL STATISTICS

CIWM POSITION STATEMENT ON ALTERNATIVE WEEKLY COLLECTION
CIWM have issued the latest in our position statements on topical waste and resource management issues on alternative weekly collection schemes. CIWM believes that alternate weekly collection can be a valuable part of a local authority’s strategy to reduce waste and maximise recycling, but its introduction should be their choice, based on specific local needs and circumstances. FLYCAPTURE ENFORCEMENT TRAINING PROGRAMME
The FlyCapture Training Programme is a national training programme developed by Defra, the Environment Agency and the Welsh Assembly Government designed for local authority enforcement staff and lawyers. The programme is now ready for delivery with the first courses initially scheduled to run at least once in each region in England and Wales in the coming months.
