DEFRA SUMMARY OF RESPONSES TO THE REVIEW OF EXEMPTIONS FROM LICENSING
Defra have released a paper which summarises the responses to the informal consultation on the principles behind the review of the exemptions from waste management licensing. During the informal consultation a discussion paper was released, containing 21 questions relating to various aspects of the review. Both the written responses to the questions and the feedback from the stakeholder workshops on certain subject areas are summarised within the paper, see www.defra.gov.uk/environment/waste/management/exemptions/pdf/exemption-summary.pdf

HSE BETTER BACK CAMPAIGN
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and local authorities have launched a new campaign to help tackle back pain. This is a national campaign to tackle back pain and upper limb disorders at work. For more information see www.hse.gov.uk/msd/campaigns/

REVIEW OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACTION ON CLIMATE CHANGE
The Local Government Association (LGA) have released a review of local government action on
