DEFINITION OF MUNICIPAL WASTE USED IN LATS IN ENGLAND
Defra have issued the summary and analysis of responses to the consultation on the definition of municipal waste used in the Landfill Allowances Trading Scheme (LATS) in England. The conclusion included that a majority of the respondent’s recognised there need to further clarify the definition of municipal waste used in LATS. BERR WEEE SETTLEMENT CENTRE GUIDANCE NOTE
The Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) have issued a guidance note on the WEEE settlement centre. The primary function of the WEEE Settlement Centre is to record evidence of WEEE treatment and to allow issuance and holdings of Evidence Notes to be monitored. EEA TIME TO STEP UP EFFORTS TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION

GREENPEACE UNCOVERING THE HIDDEN FLOWS OF E-WASTE

WRAP LAUNCHES SITE WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN TEMPLATE
Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) has launched a Site Waste Management Plan (SWMP) template to help the construction industry comply with legislation coming into force in England in April. The template comprises a series of 14 steps, which follow the construction lifecycle from pre-design to project completion and review. For more information see
