DEFRA MUNICIPAL WASTE MANAGEMENT STATISTICS PROVISIONAL QUARTER 2
Defra have published the second provisional set of estimates from the Department's 2007/8 survey of municipal waste in England.  These provisional results incorporate the second quarter of the financial year and are based on information supplied by local authorities to WasteDataFlow. EUROPEAN COMMISSION CONSULTATION PAPER ON THE REVIEW OF THE WEEE DIRECTIVE
The European Commission has issued a consultation paper on the Review of the WEEE Directive. BERR encourages UK stakeholders to respond directly to the European Commission as directed. The final deadline is 5 June 2008 although comments before this date are encouraged. EEA AIR POLLUTION FROM ELECTRICITY-GENERATING LARGE COMBUSTION PLANTS REPORT  
The European Environment Agency (EEA) has published a report which suggests that emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulphur dioxide (SO2) from large combustion plants (LCP) could have been lower in 2004. For More ifnormtion see  http://reports.eea.europa.eu/technical_report_2008_4/en

WRAP REPORT ON THE FOOD WE WASTE
WRAP have released a report looking at the food we waste, the research gives detailed new insights into the nature and amount of food waste thrown away in the UK. DEFRA BUILDING A LOW CARBON ECONOMY: UNLOCKING INNOVATION AND SKILLS
Defra have published "Building a low carbon economy: unlocking innovation and skills" in response to the The Commission on Environmental Markets and Economic Performance (CEMEP) report. It sets out how Government will make the UK one of the best locations in the world to develop and introduce low-carbon and resource-efficient products, processes, services and business models. DEFRA MILK ROADMAP
The Milk Roadmap has been produced by the Sustainable Consumption and Production Taskforce of the Dairy Supply Chain Forum in order to reduce the environmental impacts of liquid milk. EPA REPORT ON ORGANIC WASTE MANAGEMENT IN APARTMENTS
The Environment Protection Agency (EPA) has released a final report looking at organic waste management in apartments. One of the main findings of the research was that the introduction of organic waste collection in apartments will help Ireland meet its targets to divert organic waste from landfill, and provide equal opportunity to those apartment residents who wish to source-separate waste as much as possible. BOHS FUNDS RESEARCH ON EXPOSURE TO DUST AND ENDOTOXIN IN COMPOSTING
The research will investigate vehicle operators' exposure to dust and endotoxin in the composting sector and will evaluate current control measures. It is being carried out by the Cardiff School of Health Sciences at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC).
